How to roll out remote desktop silently to many PCs

Ten tills or five hundred office PCs — install VVDesk on all of them at once and find them in your team’s address book.

One command

The Windows installer has a silent mode that shows no windows and asks no questions:

VVDesk-win-Setup.exe --silent

Run it from Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, your RMM tool or a login script. VVDesk installs for the Windows user without admin rights and keeps itself up to date with signed updates.

After the installation

  • Each PC gets its own 9-digit desk ID
  • Add the PCs to your team’s address book and name and tag them by site or department
  • Set the unattended password once on each PC in Settings › Security
  • Check which PCs are online, and give technicians the roles they need

Keep it under control

Every session is logged, and on Team and Business you can record sessions. Updates are signed and checked before they install, and roll back by themselves if a step fails, so a broken update never leaves a PC unreachable.

Questions
