VVDESK VS TEAMVIEWER

A TeamViewer alternative with prices you can predict

TeamViewer can do almost anything, and its price list shows it. VVDesk covers what most teams use every day — remote control, unattended access, files and a shared address book — at a fraction of the cost.

Why people look for a TeamViewer alternative

Two reasons come up again and again. Home users find their free TeamViewer limited because it suspects commercial use, and small businesses find that the plan they need — enough unattended PCs, or a few colleagues connected at once — costs far more than they expected.

VVDesk keeps the rules simple: free for personal use, and for work a price per seat with generous limits. Solo already includes 100 unattended PCs.

Everyday features, without the add-ons

  • Each connection in its own tab, with its own files, chat and log
  • Unattended access with a password per PC, and Wake-on-LAN from Solo up
  • A shared address book with groups, tags and the roles Owner, Admin, Technician and Viewer
  • Session recording and an audit log of who connected, on Team and Business
  • Silent installation for Group Policy, Intune or your RMM tool

Security you can explain to your customers

Sessions are encrypted end to end between the two devices with AES-256-GCM. Our servers in the EU help the devices find each other, and when they relay, they only carry data they cannot read. Nothing starts until the person at the desk accepts, or until you prove the unattended password set on that PC.

When TeamViewer is the better choice

TeamViewer has a large ecosystem — Linux and many embedded devices, augmented-reality support, deep enterprise integrations. If you depend on those, stay with it. If you mainly reach Windows PCs, servers and tills, VVDesk does that for less.

Questions

Will VVDesk flag me for commercial use?

No. Free is for personal use and we trust you to choose a paid plan when you use VVDesk for work. The free version is not cut off by a detection system.

Can I move my TeamViewer devices to VVDesk?

Install VVDesk on each PC — silently, if you have many — and add them to your team’s address book with names and tags. Each PC gets its own 9-digit desk ID.

Does VVDesk work behind firewalls like TeamViewer?

Yes. There are no ports to open and no VPN to set up. VVDesk connects directly where the network allows and otherwise through its encrypted relay.
